And another one gone, and another one gone.... What did MJN76 say that Amazon bumped him off?

Malleus said...: Yes, I did. I thought it was a bug. The whole page view changed a couple of days ago, what with the huge fonts, and what not. As far as by-Amazon deletions, though not shown, the poster info is still there -- if you log in and bump into one of your own posts that was deleted by Amazon, the stub will still show that it was your message in the "responded-to" link field (assuming it was in response to something).

But like you say, the "posted-by" name no longer appears. Not sure what to make of it. Of course it helps them hide traces, whether intentionally or not, 'cause all deleted posts now appear the same and it's harder to infer why they were deleted based on who had posted them initially. Who the hell knows what's going on there... they've been so insolent with reader manipulation via their fake-review machine there that I wouldn't be surprised at anything.

They certainly wiped their ass with the FTC guidelines (as toothless as there were) and go on with their business as usual. Ever seen Quackusner declare that she's been reviewing freebies? Think she buys them books? What a joke...; March 26, 2012 at 9:21 AM
