How amusing that this time last year Cantrell was comparing me to a child murderer for questioning her ability to read all of the books she reviewed and now he's become one of her detractors! And I see jfoureur, or fougere, or whatever fake French name he's currently posting under, has also taken to denigrating Harriet. Some things do change it seems. But Harriet soldiers on.
Stephanie, what a lovely gesture. Will it be a Nascar romance or a werewolf love story?
"Stephanie, what a lovely gesture. Will it be a Nascar romance or a werewolf love story?"
LOL. I donated one last week, I'll think of it in her honor, although it was a book on the Civil War and probably not to her taste (wasn't to mine either).
Steph, you took the words out of my mouth. I was just about saying something like that .... :D
Barbara, yes, I have always found it curious that the pro-Harp crowd (crowd of one, most likely :) has no qualms about bashing Harriet. Like there's any sort of meaningful difference between Harp and Klausner.
Harp and Klausner are playing the same fraudulent game. They're just using different methods to cheat. Harriet fakes reviews, Harp fakes votes. No ethical difference, they're both dishonest.
Actually, we don't know if Harp's reviews are real. He's no Harriet, but he does post an awful lot of them, several a day usually, no? The real difference is that Harriet doesn't appear faking votes.
Rumor has it that Harp's art gallery, in acknowledgment of Harriet's passing the 16,000 mark, this evening is going to hold a gigantic wake. Among the invited guests are L.E.Cantrell and J.Foureur, the latter reportedly flying in from the south of France expressly to attend the sad event and encourage Grady to bear up. Marie M, I understand, was supposed to be invited, too, but no one on the guest list committee was able to contact her, even though invitations were sent to Sarah, Jeff, BIL, ex-eagle, etc. Too much of a good thing, she'll discover, isn't always wonderful! Though a Southern Californian, I myself didn't expect to be invited, though had I been, I would have declined - for personal reasons.
Harriet posted review #14,000 in June of 2007. Nine months later she hit #16,000. That is approximately 222 books per month, and just over 7 a day. Is it me or is she picking up speed?
She posted her first review in November of 1999. So from November 1999 until June of 2007 she posted on average 154 reviews per month. just over 5 books a day.
Why would she write in her profile that she is blessed being able to read 2 books a day?? She must have failed Math, too.
LOL, BIL has morphed again. From BIL to BD to MissTerry and now it's Sonia Kerrigan, and with a quote from "in my own words",
"I am a victim of several trolls who roam Amazon, bashing #7 Reviewer Grady Harp in particular. I have been falsely accused by these people of being somebody I am not. Such actions have led Amazon to remove me from the Amazon Friends netweork and have also unfairly banned me from commenting on reviews or discussion boards. However, I refuse to go away. I will continue to post reviews (Feel free to leave comments) and I have also posted my email address. Drop me a line or two. ;-)"
Where is that comment? Marie M. caused a lot of mischief before Amazon took action against Jeff G., Black Irish Latina, Elizabeth, Sharon S. and the other names she was using. I heard from people who were willing to be named and others who still feared her negative voting campaigns and wanted to remain anonymous.
Several people said upon becoming her Amazon friend they would be deluged with negative votes. She would then tell these people in private emails that it was the folks at the Harriet Klausner Appreciation Society who were in fact casting those votes. She said we were doing this in retaliation against her. I told all of these people to ask Amazon to trace these votes. I knew no one at this site was responsible. It's the classic technique of triangulation, playing both ends and having no true loyalties.
Never mind, Cathy, I found it. I'm not surprised it's almost entirely porn. Marie M. has always gone in for the sleazy. I think she thinks this will make her popular with the boys.

I am going to donate a book in her name to the local library. She would approve, no?

Defending Grady to the bitter end.

Sonia Kerrigan! No wonder the invitation committee for the wake couldn't find her.
