Back when this book first came out in France I read an article about it. I made a reference to it in several remarks on HK's reviews, I said I thought it was a book tailor made for Harriet. Of course, this was right about the same time that the Joyce Hatto fiasco was being talked about, another instance of fakery and fraud on a grand scale. I made several comments about that case as well. Both topics went over like a lead balloon.

I remember you talking about this pianist who sold someone else's recordings as her own...

As far as being tailor-made for Harriet, I think that Harriet prefers less sophistication. She just borrows a bit from the jacket and that's enough for her -- and if it doesn't make her look like she'd read the book, with this she appears to be unconcerned. She's very bold about it! So much so, I even like it.
