Klausner update

Fourteen more today (as of 12:25 pm PDT). Musta read them yesterday (after writing and posting yesterday's dose).

PS. A good comment by Robert Moore (in the GH section):
Guys, you miss the point: these vote totals are stacked and violate the spirit of reviewing on Amazon. The review is good, but not a masterpiece. And I'm sure if anything Ms. Clamor is upset to have a work of hers reviewed by someone who is pretty obviously guilty of ballot stuffing. [...]
A good, eloquent post -- except, perhaps, that no one's missing the point. Oh, all right, members of the Shill Protection Force do, but that's not for real, they're just playing stupid, hoping to make the Gentle Reader there distrust his lying eyes and believe the unbelievable instead.

Having said that, maybe Robert Moore was addressing FreeHam in plural as an organization. Either case, a good post.

Look Malleus, the woman has already explained that she suffers from insomnia and that's what enables her to read so many books. So while you were snuggled up all cozy in your bed snoozing poor Hurriet was reading eleven books and reviewing them.

Where's your appreciation of HK's round-the-clock efforts? Like the police, firemen and hospital emergency departments Hurriet Klausner's Reviews is a twenty four/seven concern. Gratitude, man, that's what we should all feel.

Thank you for putting me in my place, Barbara. Clearly, I got carried away. Mea culpa...

As a penance, I shall now go and post a number of tastefully composed Quality Comments(TM) to Harriet's and Harp's reviews.

That's the spirit! Those twenty cents will add up and before you know it you'll have a dollar. If you're willing to whore...I mean make comments at the rate Hurriet reviews it could turn into a nice little earner for you. Just ask JP's Picks. (I wonder what he's picking? I wish he'd stop, it's a nasty habit.)

Yes! But first I'll have to buy something from Amazon so as to be able to set up a sock-puppet account with posting privileges. But it's worth it!

That's what I like about Amazon: they can ban you, but for a little bit of money let you back in. They manage to keep everyone happy: Our Friends Top Reviewers are glad to see an annoying bastard such as myself banned, yet I can always sneak back in and resume harassing them.

Ooohh! What will your new name be??

One of my favorite sock-puppets is jfoureur where Grady pretends to be French. It's particularly funny when he misspells a common French word. I always envision him like Peter Sellers when he would play dual roles...

Stephanie: I ain't tellin'.

PS. Peter Jfurreur Sellers, that was funny.

Malleus, are you possibly returning incog? Great news! It's enough to reconcile me to enduring the unintentional comedy team of Len Fleisig and MM (Marie.) Notice, by the way, that one of Fleisig's comments at MACH II..Hair on Fire" was a short time ago "deleted by Amazon!" I wonder if Amazon did it, or he did. How careful do you think they are in posting their deletion tags? I've still never gotten an answer, by the way, as to why so many of our comments were "deleted by author" from that Harp review months ago.

Stanley, I'm just kidding; probably, most likely, not. I'm happy here, and really have no time for this nonsense. And what am I gonna say there that I haven't yet? Otoh, who knows...

Stanley,

The removed comment was the one where Leonard referred to this blog as a "masturbatorium". Speaking for myself, I have now and always in the past kept both hands on the keyboard. (ahem)

It seems Len was quite distressed to hear that there exists a forum apart from Amazon where people discuss ideas. It's a common phenomenon among the hard core Amazonians. The kind of people who use the lingo like "ammy" and "neginators". Their whole world revolves around Amazon and it's a shock that there are other internet sites.

Barbara:
It's just like Amazon to bridle at words rather than patent dishonesty. If they removed Fleisig's comment because of his reference to masturbation, they become richly comic in turn for their own ignorance, because in his earlier comment just above he accused me of "onanism," a word apparently not in Amazon's "trigger" lexicon.

Barbara,

How in the world do you know what the deleted comments said or who said what from some time ago?!

And I am now keeping my hands above the desk. How did he know?! JK :o)

Stephanie,

Just remember I know all, see all, and am ever vigilant. So keep those hands where I can see them!

Yes, Amazon's Roving Robot of Repression is sadly lacking in the ability to remove genuinely offensive posts. The Censor-Bot removes certain four letter words but some of the worst attacks on people I've ever seen have stayed up for months, some are still there.
